Our Services

Financial services

In 2010, after a great deal of thought, we decided to align ourselves with St James’s Place Wealth Management, an organisation of which we think very highly.  Their standards are exceptional and they have access to an excellent range of services and products with reasonable charges, coupled with an award winning and unique investment management service.  SJP is a successful organisation, very highly rated, and it’s a FTSE 250 Company with substantial profits and reserves.

So we now work alongside them and we think that this arrangement enables us to better keep abreast of constant market and product changes and continue to operate our business successfully in the changing regulatory landscape.

We achieved the change to SJP by a transfer of our Wealth Management business to Willson Grange who are a long established former IFA firm with Chartered status who are now part of SJP. But they are actually multi-tied agents and not IFAs and our own Institute's ethical rules require us to take great care in recommending such a firm.  They were IFAs until recently when they joined SJP.  We think they are eminently suitable and competent to advise our clients.  We think highly of them too and know that they share our approach and our emphasis on client care.

There is no outward change in the way that we as a firm continue to manage your affairs.  With your approval of course, your financial services arrangements under Malthouse & Company Wealth Management are looked after by Willson Grange, in our offices, and we continue to be involved throughout.  Operations are carried on much as before and Rachael Craven and David Baker are employed by Willson Grange to look after your affairs, and they do this with our full input just as we have done in the past.

As an accounting practice we ourselves are no longer IFAs so under the extensive regulations about investment advice we are now only allowed to comment on and supervise the advice you receive, though we take the view that this is actually no real change from before.

Our association with SJP Wealth Management should enable us to continue to provide an excellent client service to you.  SJP pay us a share of their commission on any business that they carry out for you so this meets our costs for making sure that your affairs continue to be looked after as well as possible.  We emphasise that Malthouse & Company continue to have overall management of your financial affairs.
